His first Flimfare Award (Regional) was in 1974 for a Malayalam movie – Kanyakumari. Kamal Haasan has been honored with the most prestigious awards an actor can hope for. His stint as a supporting actor lasted merely two years before he established himself as a credible solo actor in 1978. He has worked in 101 movies in Tamil, 17 in Telugu, 11 in Kannada, 24 in Hindi, 2 in Malayalam and one each in Bengali and English. Rajinikanth has delivered films in 7 different languages. He went on to act in Hindi, Malayalam,Bengali, Telegu, Tamil and English movies. From then on, Haasan established himself as a solo lead actor and never looked back. He acted as a supporting actor, after his 9 year break, in most of his films, but ended that stint with Naan Avanillai. Kamal Haasan began acting at age 4 and went on to complete over 100 films. Thereafter, he made his debut in Apoorva Raagangal and Andha Kanoon (Bollywood) in 1975. Rajinikanth worked as a bus conductor but quit his job to study at the Madras Film Institute in 1974. After his break, he returned, only to be seen in supporting roles till the ‘70’s. During this time, he learned karate as well as Bharatnatyam – a form of classical Indian dance. He worked in five other Tamil films before taking a nine year hiatus from acting to concentrate on his education. Kamal Haasan was first seen on the silver screen at the age of 4 in Kalathur Kannamma. They currently have two children together: Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Soundarya Rajinikanth. He got married to Latha Rangachari on 26th February, 1981. Rajinikanth was born on 12th December 1949 in Bangalore, India as Shivaji Gaikwad.
